Do you remember the way summer felt?
Feeling the grass between your toes as you ran wild through backyards
The way the wind felt in your hair while riding your bike down that big hill
The way the rain felt cold and wet as you danced in it like a fool.
Such a sweet simple life we have through the eyes of a child.
Creating and living in these moments with my children brings me endless joy.
Their eyes lighting up as they catch fireflies for the first time.
The giggles as they dodge bubbles in the yard.
Dancing with them in the kitchen while they make dinner “experiments”
I have seen the sweet simple life for myself and I know the harsh realities of now
So I try my hardest to catch all the fireflies, blow all the bubbles and dance in the kitchen with them every chance I get
Because I know for them Now will be here too soon
And they will be asking each other
“Do you remember the way summer felt?”
