Leanne Kruse co-owns Janky Gear with her husband, Mark, and together they’re creating a community-driven consignment shop specializing in outdoor gear and apparel for the whole family. Their mission is to make adventure more accessible and sustainable by offering high-quality, affordable second-hand items. “Janky Gear isn’t just about selling gear; it’s about fostering a community of people passionate about the outdoors and the planet. Being part of a movement that reduces waste, keeps gear in circulation and encourages people to get outside is incredibly exciting. We are full of ideas and can’t wait to see the Janky community grow.”
Wendy Linsday
Business: Pebble Spa
Wendy Lindsay began her business journey as a massage therapist with her own practice in Seattle, Washington. After moving back to Minnesota, Wendy opened a spa in Ely, Minnesota, and later expanded to four locations, one of which is in downtown Rochester. Pebble Spa offers massages, acupuncture and spa and salon treatments, and each location also includes a unique boutique shopping experience. “It had always been my dream to open a spa and provide an experience beyond your typical massage or salon appointment. At Pebble Spa we are able to give people an enjoyable, quiet, calming experience that leaves them feeling relaxed and happy. We love bringing our salons into smaller communities, and Rochester has been a great fit for us.”
Dinalynn Rosenbush
Business: The Language of Play
Dinalynn Rosenbush is a consultant and coach dedicated to improving communication between parents and their children through her business, The Language of Play, which is also the name of her podcast. With 30 years of experience as a speech and language pathologist (SLP), Dinalynn has worked with hundreds of children with speech and language delays and realized that the best way to bridge the gap between SLP shortages and children’s communication needs is to teach parents the skills they need to build build strong connections and communication skills with their children. “I want to equip parents to help their children so that they can team with the SLP and leave only the hardest issues for the SLP by showing parents how to teach specific skills to their child, building confident, successful parents along the way!”
Becca Stiles-Nogosek
Business: Nogo Homes
Becca Stiles-Nogosek, along with her husband, owns and operates NogoHomes, which provides short-term rental management, consulting and accommodations in Southern Minnesota. The two Rochester natives are passionate about creating welcoming spaces and sharing their love of Rochester with each guest that books a stay with them. “We love being able to share the community that we love with those who visit us. NogoHomes, because when you stay with us, you never want to go home.”
