Naura Anderson
Threshold Arts

Naura is the founding director of Threshold Arts, a community arts organization and retail space, and the operator of the Historic Chateau Theater. Naura spent much of her early career at the Rochester Art Center, managing their retail space, teaching classes, doing graphic design, marketing and communications, curating exhibitions, doing community engagement work and planning events. Driven by a desire to create a space where local artists could showcase their work and a passion for seeing others shine, get the recognition they deserve and make valuable connections, Naura launched Threshold Arts in 2019. “When I think about the vision behind Threshold, I always come back to being a resource for artists in the community who are looking for connections, space or technical assistance. To be able to guide people in that journey is really what drives me.”

Pure Barre Rochester

Anna began her journey with Pure Barre in Montana as a client while she was in college, but as she grew to love the exercise, she started working for the business, growing into a management position and eventually deciding to become the owner of a location herself. With Rochester as the chosen city, Anna has since built a thriving studio in downtown Rochester, where anyone can enjoy the low-impact, high-intensity workout classes and the community to be found there. “I love the success and intimacy that you inadvertently share with your clients as they connect with you, celebrating their personal milestones and class milestones. It’s just so rewarding getting to be a part of people’s everyday lives.”

Griot Arts

Nicole is the founder of Griot Arts as well as a writer and anthropologist. Griot Arts is a community arts hub that celebrates and centers Black art, joy and cultural expression. They are opening a gallery and bookstore that will showcase art and literature by BIPOC artists and writers. “I love the arts and have been working as an arts writer for several years. I have a passion for amplifying the voices and work of BIPOC and emerging artists. Much of my work in this space has been in other parts of Minnesota. I wanted to create a space and opportunities for community members and artists right here in my community in Rochester to engage with, learn from and be empowered and inspired by Black art and culture.”

Goldberry Common

Gina Marcucci, local musician, graphic designer and marketing professional, is currently working toward opening a mead-based business, Goldberry Common, along with her business partner Abram Krause. Sparked by a mutual dream of having something of their own involving the arts and community, and leaning on Abe’s background in beekeeping, the two of them decided to take action and turn a what-if conversation into a reality. Since then they’ve begun making mead, testing recipes and hosting informal tastings as they work through the licensing and permitting process. “Knowing that we are building something of our own and seeing what we can do in the community, with an ultimate vision of having a space where a community of makers and growers can come together, makes every step forward really exciting as we get closer to our goal.” ::
