- What is your name?
Kali Aldrich - Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born and raised in Rochester, MN by my remarkable parents Deb and Craig, alongside my older brother, Justin. I grew up playing sports including softball and hockey, which I still have the passion for to this day. Living and growing up in Rochester has been a wonderful treat. I have great friends, widespread connections, my go-to sports leagues, my job at the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce, Burn Boot Camp, and beautiful running trails. There’s always something to do and so many opportunities here, so I never get bored! - What do you enjoy most about the outdoors? Things, hobbies, activities, etc. Tell us more about why you love it!
My favorite part about the outdoors is the atmosphere of different landmarks. Whether it be any of my favorite spots – the softball diamond, sand volleyball court, trailhead, my cabin, the Florida beach, surrounding lakes, Rochester Honkers games, the South Dakota Black Hills, etc. – my mood is a prime indicator of why I love being outside. - What is one of your favorite memories of experiencing the outdoors? What were the challenges? How did it benefit you?
My favorite memory of experiencing the outdoors is a combination of all my outdoor runs and races. The challenges of these were the hills and different climates. However, it benefitted me because it provided new scenery and beautiful views. As Miley Cyrus says, “Life’s a climb, but the view is great.” Feel free to visit my blog at https://kjrunning.blogspot.com/ to read more. - What’s something you’d love to do more of outside?
I’d love to experience a camping trip. I’ve never been camping or gone backpacking. I’ve heard incredible things from friends who have and what a memorable experience it is. It’s definitely on my bucket list of to-do’s.
