The Rochester Downtown Alliance has heard from many of you that adapting to COVID-19 has been extremely stressful, and it wasn’t always clear where to go for support. Winona State University Rochester and Zumbro Valley Health Center, hearing this, have worked to offer a 4-part series on resiliency strategies for employers, employees and anyone who might benefit from this service. This program is grant funded and presented at no cost to participants.
September 10, 9am – 10am: Kindness – Examines kindness towards self and others, and how kindness increases well-being, relationships, and overall resilience
SMART (Stress Management and Resiliency Training) is an evidenced based training that has been studied in various clinical trials including but not limited to individuals with terminal diagnoses, mental health diagnoses, work settings, immune response, and physical health – the studies have shown that, when implemented, the skills trained in SMART yield tremendous results such as improved immune response, lower levels of anxiety/depression, improved working environment, better physical health, improved relationships, etc. The training is broken down into four modules – Gratitude, Mindful Presence, Kindness, and Resilient Mindset.
Mark your calendars for the next workshop: Friday, September 24 from 9 to 10 a.m.: Resilient Mindset – Examines forgiveness, cultivating a lower threshold for gratitude, and tying all the information/micro-skills together.
