For the filling:
- 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp lemon juice
For the topping:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Filling
- In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Spread the apples evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Make the Topping
- In a separate bowl, mix the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the melted butter over the mixture and stir until crumbly.
- Assemble and Bake
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.
- Serve
- Serve warm on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
